Summer Fair July 15th

SUMMER FAIR. Plans for a Summer Fair on Saturday 15th June are fairly well advanced. The overall intention is to use our facilities to the full and to have a good day for all to enjoy. Catering will be a feature and there will be a list at the back of church for people to offer e.g. tins of salmon, potted meat, and all things necessary for sandwiches. There will be a barbecue and other light refreshments. Thank you to such a lot of people for offering to help. All these offers will be made use of. With an eye to the weather, can anyone lend a garden gazebo or similar. It would help if they can be erected the night before. Summer Fete (make a note)

The Social Committee have been very busy working on a programme of events that Father Price was keen to introduce to enhance church life.  The main one will be a SUMMER FAIR  on Saturday 15th June 11am to 4pm, plans are fairly well advanced. The overall intention is to use our facilities to the full and to have a good day for all to enjoy. Catering will be a feature with drinks and sandwiches, we hope to also include a BBQ There will be a list at the back of church for people to offer e.g. tins of salmon, potted meat, and all things necessary for sandwiches. Games and Competitions for the children (and some adults) will feature this year with use of the outside spaces weather permitting. The Ascension of the Lord. Today is an Holy day of Obligation. Men of Galilee, why gaze in wonder at the heavens?  This Jesus whom you saw ascending into heaven will return as you saw him go, alleluia. Acts 1:11   “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet Believe.  John 20:29

Friday 3rd May

Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI moved from his new home to live in the Vatican on Thursday for the first time since he resigned Feb. 28, beginning an unprecedented era for the Catholic Church of having a retired pontiff living alongside a reigning one. Pope Francis welcomed Benedict outside his new retirement home ,a converted monastery on the edge of the Vatican gardens, after this the two went into the adjoining chapel to pray together, the Vatican sources report. The Vatican said Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI was pleased to be back and that he would dedicate himself to the service of the church above all with prayer. Thursday 2nd May

The second of our Church walks took place today and was blessed by good weather.  Please do try one of these it is a chance to meet others and enjoy the village from another angle.  Please Note it is now a 7pm start from the church.
