Calling all Children especially years 5,6,7 at school.

We are looking for some help at the First Mass of Christmas which is at 5pm on Christmas Eve, (Thursday the 24th of December).  This is a joyous family occasion which sets the tone of our celebrations, it would be nice if our children and young people could spare some time to help at the Mass. If you are interested speak to Father Price and / or sign your name on the list on the big table at the back of the church.

Advent is upon us!

. ADVENT SUNDAY. From today a new Liturgical Year opens before us. Peer through the darkness of this season of the year and be ready for that gleam of light which is The Incarnation being manifest to us in The Nativity of Our Lord Jesus Christ. On Sunday in the afternoon at 4.00pm there is a United Service in the Methodist church for members of all the churches in Whalley. It would be nice to see English Martyrs well represented on this occasion.

Afternoon Tea at Oakhill College

. A GOODLY NUMBER of us spent a lovely afternoon at Oakhill College last Wednesday, where Year 6 children, staff and parents served a lovely afternoon tea followed by delightful entertainment by the children spliced with 2 numbers given by Dorothy Fleming and Theresa Boston – entertainment which took us all back to childhood and left lovely memories.
